Business Unit Food Systems supplies state-of-the-art solutions for processing food and beverage products. Our solutions are skid-mounted modules, process units and complete production lines, based on Alfa Laval’s key technologies, engineered to our customer’s needs.
All modules and systems are project managed, engineered, sourced, supplied and commissioned by our global Engineering & Supply team, working out of eight offices across the world.
Procurement plays a key role in delivering competitive solutions to our customers.
About the job
As Lead Buyer you will be responsible for securing that procurement is done at a competitive level on assigned projects by choosing suppliers, negotiating deals and placing orders – in close collaboration with Engineering and Project Management.
Primary tasks include:
- Project purchasing for Food & Water industries
- Request and negotiate quotations with focus on quality and total cost
- Increase competitiveness in sales bid phase
- Source, select and develop new suppliers
- Drive supplier contracting and develop Alfa Laval preferred suppliers
- Deliver on key figures and follow-up on KPI’s
- Continuous development of the procurement processes and way of working
Who you are
To be successful in this position you must be a proactive, solution- and result-oriented team player with strong communication skills. You work in a structured way with an eye for details and deadlines. You must always seek the best possible deal with an optimistic attitude and a TCO mindset.
What you know
You hold a BSc in Economics and Business Adm., a Graduate Diploma in Business Adm. or equivalent and have +5 years’ procurement experience from international companies. We expect you to have experience with project and technical procurement, as well as Contract Management. You are super user in MS Excel and master spoken and written English at negotiation level.
