S&OP has been around before the conception of the internet and in terms of the core concepts, not much has changed since then. This is a serious issue for all demand planners and S&OP professionals because your particular market and consumer bases have changed drastically over the last 30-plus years. The problem is not a lack of understanding of existing processes or a lack of results. The problem, rather, is that S&OP and Integrated Business Planning may not keep up with where your business is going, and risks failing to deliver value in an evolving market place.
Eric will discuss alternative ways to look at your current gaps in planning and also:
And finally how we may not need an evolution of an individual function planning process - but an elevation…and maybe even a transformation of a business efficiency planning process.
v/ Eric Wilson, Director of Business Planning at Escalade Sports, Director of Thought Leadership at the Institute of Business Forecasting & Planning (IBF) and Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF)
Mölnlycke implemented a new calculated forecast tool and process end of 2016. The challenge for Mölnlycke was not only related to the new tool itself, but also to the process and people aspects.
The presentation will outline the challenges Mölnlycke experienced with its previous model, the reason for change as well as an overview of the functionality of the new forecasting tool. In addition, some of the key learnings of such project will be shared.
v/ Mikael Kylberg, Global Supply Chain Planning & MBM Director Operations, Mölnlycke Health Care
"You can only change so much with reforms. Sometimes you need a revolution if you want to make a real difference."
Since most of PANDORA´s current planning processes were put in place 5 years ago, they have experienced rapid growth and have changed from being a wholesaler to a retailer.
The PANDORA Planning Revolution aims to rethink the planning setup from scratch using principles of simplicity, transparency, segmentation, and differentiation. Within Demand Planning this means that they have changed the way they think about statistical forecasting, best practices, and utilization of sell out data. More specifically, they have introduced one simple statistical model where they add intelligence on aggregate level and a clear way for the demand planners to prioritize how to spend time on item level.
v/ Marie Grønlund, Director, Supply Chain Development, Group Operations - Group Supply Chain, PANDORA
v/ Janni Jepsen, Director, Global Sales & Operations Planning, Danfoss A/S
Why are people much more important that processes & systems when improving S&OP?
We will during the workshop work with the different change management tools from Rick Mauer’s 3 levels of resistance to change, Maister’s trust equation and S&OP key stakeholder map.
