S&OP has been around before the conception of the internet and in terms of the core concepts, not much has changed since then. 11.45 Demand Planning – one step back, two steps forward

Mölnlycke implemented a new calculated forecast tool and process end of 2016. The challenge for Mölnlycke was not only related to the new tool itself, but also to the process and people aspects.
The presentation will outline the challenges Mölnlycke experienced with its previous model, the reason for change as well as an overview of the functionality of the new forecasting tool. In addition, some of the key learnings of such project will be shared.

Since most of PANDORA´s current planning processes were put in place 5 years ago, they have experienced rapid growth and have changed from being a wholesaler to a retailer.

The PANDORA Planning Revolution aims to rethink the planning setup from scratch using principles of simplicity, transparency, segmentation, and differentiation. Within Demand Planning this means that they have changed the way they think about statistical forecasting, best practices, and utilization of sell out data. More specifically, they have introduced one simple statistical model where they add intelligence on aggregate level and a clear way for the demand planners to prioritize how to spend time on item level.
