Procurement – Next practices

  • What is it?
  • How does it look?
  • How do you get there?

Mature procurement organizations are at a crossroads, where the current value proposition as primarily a cost cutting provider is no longer sufficient. Leading procurement organizations are being challenged by the business to deliver beyond savings and cost reductions.

Many leading companies have matured their sourcing process and are now beginning to sharpen their focus towards the area of supplier management and the post contracting field. And they are not only striving for cost reduction – They want more! Value and risk are the two next things for procurement to get in control, and it can primarily be managed and extracted through a rigorous Supplier management approach – not as a stand-alone initiative, but as an integrated part of the category management process

This conference will give you cutting edge knowledge on leading procurement trends and challenges - and insights on what leading international companies are doing in order to identify and cope with imminent procurement challenges.

  • Get an insight on what leading companies are working with right now and are preparing for in the foreseeable future
  • Benchmark and network with peers from leading international companies
  • Equip yourself and your organization with leading thoughts and ideas for the next generation procurement strategies
  • Be inspired regarding innovation within the areas of processes, products and technology

With this conference, we strive to prepare procurement professionals for the next challenges and opportunities in procurement.

Last year’s Procurement conference was totally sold out.

09.15 Procurement’s future in the digital supply chain

Artificial intelligence-based systems are set to take away a bigger chunk of procurement’s tactical and transactional work in the years ahead.

At the same time, the digital revolution gives our profession the opportunity to play a more strategic and collaborative role within an integrated supply chain. But to do so it needs to:

  • Embrace advanced data analytics and technologies
  • Generate forward-looking intelligence for smarter decision-making
  • Develop digital organisation and people capabilities
  • Balance ‘hard’ analytical and ‘soft’ relationship skills

13.55 Outlook for the next decade of procurement

Procurement is about to change dramatically – once again, would some people say.

This time the change will be much bigger and have a paramount impact on all procurement organizations and many will be hit like a tsunami. The question is, what is driving the next wave of change and how will it impact organizations right now and in the years to come?

Søren Vammen will share insights from leading edge global companies and the newest research on what the next wave of change looks like:

  • Drivers of change
  • Short and long term impact
  • Why can’t you just hide this time (again)?
  • Coping strategies

14.55 Panel debate: Procurement at a crossroads

There is a wave of change hitting procurement right now and the years to come. Therefore procurement is at a crossroads, and you have a choice: be disruptive or be disrupted!

Procurement is a mechanism to respond to the business’s needs, and the question is “what are you responding to?” For most companies what you respond to is about to change.

The panel debate will cover the following topics:

  • Procurement – The war on analytics
  • Procurement – The war on knowledge
  • Procurement – The war for talent
  • Procurement – The war on relations
  • Procurement – The war on business relevance
